BALTIMORE (January 6, 2011) –20th International Grand Polaris Karl Price would like to express his condolences to the family of Michael Crawford (7B09), who passed away on December 28 from an enlarged heart.
“As a father, as a fraternity brother and as a human being, I am saddened by Michael’s untimely death,” Price said. “The hearts of all Iota men hang heavy as those who knew and loved Michael mourn him.”
A Brooklyn, N.Y. native, Crawford, 21, was a senior at Hampton University who, as described by his chapter brother Anwar Miles, was someone who would give the shirt off his back.
“Whenever it was time to stroll, step, do community service or study, he always did it with enthusiasm and put his all into it,” Miles said. “He was a true man of his word and embodied what an Iota man should be.”
A wake will be held this Saturday from 9 – 10 a.m. at The Riverside Church, 490 Riverside Dr., New York, N.Y.
His funeral will follow the wake.
